Bringing The World To Children Through Books
New Jersey Friends of Clearwater & Friends are proudly participating in a book drive for The Bridge of Books Foundation (BoB). BoB is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide books to underprivileged and at-risk children throughout New Jersey to support literacy and encourage a love of reading. The organization's name comes from the belief that a book, like a bridge, can take a child to new places - today in his or her imagination and tomorrow through literacy skills! We are looking to collect: · New and gently used books for kids from birth through age eighteen · If a book makes sounds, it must work · If a book has parts, it must be complete We are not looking to collect: · Adult books, textbooks, encyclopedias, used coloring books, used work books or magazines · One exception - Bridge of Books will accept parenting books! A NJFC member and a collection (barrel/box) will be at Johnny Rockets, Monmouth Mall, Rt 35 on Tuesday, March 9th 9AM-3PM & Wednesday, March 10th from 4PM-9PM Johnny Rockets will be awarding certificates!! Please be a part of our efforts to bring the world and all its possibilities to New Jersey's at-risk children through books. Should you have any questions, please contact Lynn at lynn22353@yahoo.com.
